For the 2022 season, we recommend planning your safari in mid-July as this is when the migration typically starts proper with the large herds of wildebeest starting the move into Masai Mara Game reserve. The Migration takes place till the end of August, before declining into mid-September.

The 5 days Masai Mara Nakuru safari by road will progressively cover Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru with an unbelievably game experience. Both destinations are unique and each compliments the other making it a perfect combination for Safari lovers.

This is a 4 day Masai Mara safari that is ideal for travelers who are on a short visit and want to experience the very best of Kenya`s most magnificent wildlife reserves.

Tight schedules due to work or other constraints are simply a fact of life but we don`t think this should stop you from experiencing most of the Masai Mara on a safari.

From Lake Nakuru National park to the plains of the Masai Mara, this is your chance to encounter animals in Kenya Safari from the best possible angle. Safari Day 1: Nairobi – Great Rift Valley – Maasai Mara Game Reserve (230 km 4to 5 hours)

Safari Day 1: You will be met by your tour guide/driver and one of our office representatives who will brief you on your entire safari answering any of your questions that you may be having. You will then be introduced to your guide. Depart for your drive to Masai Mara with a brief stop at the escapement overlooking the Great Rift Valley with great views and photo taking. You will be arriving at Masai Mara in the afternoon in time for lunch then later proceed for your evening game drive. You will have an opportunity to spot Elephants, buffaloes, lions, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, and different species of gazelles, birds, cheetah, and leopards among many other animals.

Safari Day 2: Maasai Mara Full day Game viewing

Full-Day Game Drive

After breakfast, you will leave for a full-day game drive in Maasai Mara National Park. This is home to over 3 million large mammals. Our experienced tour guide/ driver will take you in search of the famous Big 5 among other animals: Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino, Hyena, Cheetah, Jackal, Warthog, Giraffe, Zebra, Antelope wildebeest, and various bird species. Picnic lunch will be served at Mara River as you witness the famous migration.

Safari Day 3: Maasai Mara – Lake Nakuru (215 km – 5 hours)

After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Nakuru with a game drive en-route. Picnic lunch will be served. You will arrive in Lake Nakuru early in the evening in time for dinner. Accommodation will be at Sarova Lion hill lodge.

 

Safari Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Nairobi (167 km – 3 hours)

After breakfast, you will start your 4 hours of game drive in Lake Nakuru and feast your eyes with sightings of flamingos, often referred to as the “Pink Lake”. If you’re lucky, you might also see small games such as Water Buck, Impala, Rhino, and Buffalo within the garden’s surroundings.

Lake Nakuru is a renowned paradise for Bird Watchers with its high population of birds, the most famous being the thousands of flamingos which form a very beautiful deep pink coloration around the edges of the lake shore. Apart from these flamingos, there are also over 400 species of birds visiting the lake. Animals can also be sighted in the park including Rothschild’s Giraffe, Black and White Rhino, Waterbuck, Reedbuck, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Baboon, and several other species of plains game.

 

After lunch, you will depart for Nairobi and arrive around 4-5 pm late afternoon depending on traffic conditions. You will be dropped at home/residence.
